FAQ

FAQ

Ample storage. Anytime access.

Q:

What are your access hours?

A:

You can access your unit any time you need to, as we have 24-hour access with a keypad code for customers to gain entry.

Q:

What are your office hours?

A:

We don't hold traditional office hours, but we're happy to accommodate our customers' schedules by setting an appointment to meet that works for both of us.

Q:

Do you offer storage for vehicles and boats?

A:

Yes, we do! We have covered parking for cars, boats, campers and RVs. Our largest unit is 12-by-45 feet, so we can accommodate large vehicles and boats.

We recommend that you visit your car at least once a month and start the engine and let it run for a few minutes. (Be sure to leave the door open to your storage unit when running the engine for proper ventilation.) When possible, you may want to take your car for a quick drive to get all the parts moving occasionally.

Q:

Do I need to insure my contents in my storage unit?

A:

Check your insurance options carefully before signing your storage rental agreement and placing your items into self-storage.

Contact your insurance agent to see if the items placed in the self-storage facility will be covered by your current homeowner/renter insurance policy.

It may be that you are fully covered for items stored away from home or you may have to pay an additional premium to get such coverage.

Q:

How should I package items that I plan on storing?

A:

Here are some general guidelines to keep in mind as you pack:

  • To aid in stacking, use same-size boxes when possible.

  • Avoid storing items in plastic bags as they are less sturdy and could trap moisture.

  • Fill each box completely to prevent the top or sides from crushing. If your box is filled with odd-shaped or loose items like glassware or toys, fill the open spaces with crumpled paper, bubble wrap or other packing material.

  • Don’t make boxes too heavy to move. Use larger boxes for things that don’t weigh much and smaller ones for the heavy stuff.

  • Use the right type of box or packing crate. For instance, use a heavy-duty box for items like books, as it is less likely to break than a standard box. Cell kits may work best for stemware or knick-knacks. Wardrobe boxes allow you to hang up clothing and fabrics while in storage.
